One Winter’s Eve, on a date not remembered
I crouched by a fire, to watch cooling embers
Within the comfort, of a stuffy bar
Stood fifteen men, each their own star
The men stood and drank, in a satisfied way
To show that the snow, could not ruin their day
They all stood and sang, with their merry heads high
To acknowledge their life, and be ready to die
They sang joyful songs to be fully aware
That a good man can live without thoughts of despair
The men had all shed their thoughts of ahead
And honored their presence instead
Enough spirit was shown in that stuffy bar
To light the warm tip of every cigar
One Winter’s Eve, on a date not remembered
I watched fifteen men, and the woe they surrendered
